A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, DESIGNATING AN AGENT AND ALTERNATE AGENT
TO APPLY FOR AND OBTAIN FEDERAL AND/OR STATE EMERGENCY
OR DISASTER ASSISTANCE FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds was hit by a severe wind storm on August 29, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the wind storm caused significant damage within the City of Edmonds; and
WHEREAS, there are federal and state emergency and/or disaster assistance funding sources
available to help mitigate that damage; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to appoint an agent to seek such funds on behalf of the City of
Edmonds, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Al Compaan, Police Chief of the City of Edmonds, is hereby designated the
authorized representative and David O. Earling, Mayor of the City of Edmonds, is hereby
designated the alternate authorized representative, for and on behalf of the City of Edmonds, a
municipal corporation established under Title 35A of the laws of the state of Washington.
e n 2. The purpose of the designations in Section 1, above, is to obtain federal and/or state
emergency or disaster assistance funds. These representatives are authorized on behalf of the City of
Edmonds to execute all contracts, certify completion of projects, request payments, and prepare all
required documentation necessary to obtain the grant funding contemplated by this resolution.
