The special meeting of the Edmonds City Council was called to order at 5:40 by Paul Mar, Community
Services Director, representing Mayor Hall.

The purpose of this special meeting was to select a consultant to assist the City develop space layouts and
renovation plans for the Edmonds Financial Center Building. Paul Mar gave a brief overview of the RFP
process, that 13 written submittals had been submitted and that he and Councilmembers Myers and
Nordquist had developed the shortlist of four firms to be interviewed tonight. Each team will be given 30
minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for Council questions.
The first team interview began at 5:45 PM.

The last interview concluded at 9:13 PM. The Council discussed the interviews, presentations and the
qualifications of each team. At the conclusion of this discussion, the City Council selected The Lewis
Architects and requested staff to prepare a packet authorizing the initiation of contract negotiation with the
selected firm and put this item on the consent agenda for the October 3rd City Council meeting.
The City Council passed a second motion stating that, in the event that the City could not arrive at agreeable
contract terms with The Lewis Architects, staff would begin negotiations with Edberg Christiansen
Heidenreich.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:55 PM.
