Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a permit coordinator in the Development Services Department. Thank you. Sheet A-1 1.Provide a detail on the plans for the accessible parking signs complying with ICC A117.1 section 502.7. Sheet A-2 2.Show on the plans the width of the exterior ramps (minimum 44” per IBC 1101.2.2 WS amended) and the exterior entry landing (60” x 60” per 1010.7.3). 3.Show a handrail on both sides of the ramps, with 12 inch top and bottom extensions. IBC 1010.9 4.Show how edge protection is provided at the ramps. IBC 1010.10 5.Show a handrail on both sides of all stairs serving the main floor, with top and bottom extensions. IBC 1009.15 6.Provide details for all guards, handrails, treads and risers to show compliance with building code. 7.Please use an occupant load factor of 35 for all occupants in the Infant Room and adjust the calculations and notes as needed. IBC 1004 8.Room identification symbols (numbers) are shown on the plan, seemingly with references to room elevation views (the numerals 1,2,3 and 4 surround the room number) but none are found. Please clarify these symbols. 9.Provide details and dimensions for accessible fixtures and features in the two restrooms to show compliance with ICC A117.1 chapter 6. 10.A total of 3 toilets are required using the 1:15 ratio for daycares in IBC Table 2902.1. Please modify the plans as needed, or provide a justification for providing only 2 toilets. Sheet A-3 11.Indicate the wattage for each individual light fixture on the Light Fixture Legend to allow for correct installation and inspection. WSEC C405 12.Fill out and submit the Exterior Lighting Summary form and verify the exterior lighting shown on the plans complies with the form. (The EXT-LTG form submitted was not filled out.) Sheet A-5 13.Provide a wainscot in Toilet Room A103. IBC 1210.2.2 Sheet A-6 14.Due to the change of occupancy, all areas of “primary function” must be served by an accessible route, including doorways. Doors DA112, DA113 and DA115 must each be wide enough to allow for a minimum clear width of 32 inches at the 90 degree position. Typically doors less than 36 inches wide will not meet this requirement. IBC 3411.4.2 #2 and IBC 1008.1.1 Sheet A-7 15.Indicate safety glazing at windows WA103 and WA105 that are within 24 inches of doors. IBC 2406.4.2 Structural 16.Indicate on the plans any structural changes where new openings are created for doors or windows in the exterior walls. Show header sizes and any changes/reduction in structural wall panels. Mechanical 17.Describe on the plans how ventilation is provided for all rooms, either by natural means or mechanical means as per International Mechanical Code section 401.2. 18.In toilet rooms, provide exhaust at a minimum rate of 50 cfm continuous or 70 cfm intermittent. IMC 403.3 19.In Laundry room, provide exhaust at a minimum rate of 20 cfm continuous or 50 cfm intermittent. IMC 403.3 Page 2 of 2
