ORDINANCE NO. 2948
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING TITLE 5 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the State of Washington and its legislature have
required that cities, code cities and towns may not establish
penalties for an act which constitutes a crime that is different
from the penalty prescribed for that crime by state statute; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance is in the interests of public
health, safety and welfare; WHEREAS, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS, Section 5.01.010 of the
Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
5.01.010 GENERAL PROVISIONS
The following statutes of the State of
Washington, including any future amendments
are adopted by reference:
N. Chapter 89, Sections 16 and 17, Laws of
1993 amending RCW 15.60.150 and RCW
15.60.170, establishing I criminal
penalties for violation of the state
beekeeping statutes.
O. Chapter 208, Section 2, Laws of 1993
amending RCW 14.20.020, establishing
criminal penalties for acting as an
aircraft dealer without a valid aircraft
dealer's license.

Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence,
clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or
constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an
administrative action, is not subject to referendum and shall take
effect five (5) days after publication.
