ORDINANCE NO. 3360
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF ECC
10.80.060 REGARDING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE
CITY'S CITIZEN COMMISSION ON SALARIES OF ELECTED
OFFICIALS, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has appointed the Citizens Commission on Salaries
of Elected Officials; and
WHEREAS, as a part of its report to the City Council, the Commission has
recommended and requested amendment of the ordinance which establishes its charge in order to
provide for the filing of its recommendation on even, rather than odd - numbered years in order to
depoliticize its recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the public interest to enact such an
amendment, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Edmonds Community Code 10.80.060 Salary Schedule
Recommendation relating to the recommendations of the Citizens Commission on the Salaries of
Elected Officials is hereby amended to read as follows:
10.80.060 Salary schedule recommendation.
The Commission shall file its schedules of recommended salaries
for elected officials of the City with the City Clerk no later than the
first Monday in May of each even - numbered year. The signature

of the Chair of the Commission shall be affixed to each schedule
submitted to the City Clerk. The Chair shall certify that the
schedule has been adopted in accordance with the provisions of the
this Chapter, and with the rules, if any, of the Commission. Such
schedule shall be effective only upon adoption by the City Council
and in accordance with state law.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
