ORDINANCE NO. 3429
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ITS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
TO ADOPT AN UPDATED TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT,
AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Growth Management Act, the City is required to
update its transportation plan every six to ten years, and
WHEREAS, the last major update was prepared in 1995, and
WHEREAS, a draft 2002 Transportation Element Update has been presented and
reviewed by the Planning Board which, on November 13, 2002 recommended its approval, and
and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the City Council on December 3, 2002,
WHEREAS, based upon the recommendation of the Planning Board and the
testimony of the public, the City Council deems it to be in the public interest to approve the 2002
Transportation Element Update, attached hereto as Exhibit A, as in the public interest, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Comprehensive Plan of the City of Edmonds is hereby amended
to include the 2002 Transportation Element Update, attached hereto as Exhibit A and

incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth. Such Transportation Element
Update is adopted in lieu of the prior transportation element, which is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The Planning Director is hereby authorized to incorporate the 2002
Transportation Element Update, attached as Exhibit A hereto, as a part of the City's
Comprehensive Plan.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
