ORDINANCE NO. 3443
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF
CHAPTER 3.50 MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES TO ENACT A
NEW SECTION 3.50.040 RELATING TO MEETING ROOM
CHARGES, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has adopted a policy under
which fees and charges for services shall be levied in order to recapture the cost of providing any
service, and
WHEREAS, from time to time, meeting rooms of the City are made available for
the use of public and private, for profit and non - profit organizations, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the public interest to establish
charges for such use through an administrative process, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 3.50 Miscellaneous Charges is hereby amended by the
addition of a new Section 3.50.040 Meeting Room Charges to read as follows:
3.50.040 Meeting room charges.
The Mayor is hereby authorized to establish charges for the use of
meeting rooms by public and private organizations, both profit and
non - profit, on an annual basis as a part of the budget process.
Charges for such rooms shall be reported to the Council as a part
of each annual budget process. The charges for the next fiscal year
shall be deemed approved at the date that the budget is approved.
Such charges shall be made available to the public at the

Administrative Services Department, the office of the City Clerk,
and the office of the Mayor.
Section 2. For the remainder of the fiscal year 2003, the charges set forth in the
attached Exhibit A are hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as fully as if herein set
forth.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specif.-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
