ORDINANCE NO. 3470
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, VACATING THE NORTHERLY EAST
THREE FEET OF THE RIGHT -OF -WAY OF THE 8500 BLOCK
OF BOWDOIN WAY, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE
SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the vacation of a herein described portion of the north east side of
the 8500 block of Bowdoin Way was initiated by City Council resolution on November 12,
2002; and
WHEREAS, following public hearing, the City Council determined that there is
no reasonable purpose or use for the property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council decided that adequate compensation was provided
to the City in the course of negotiation and sale of an adjacent piece of City -owned property
located at 8505 Bowdoin Way; and
WHEREAS, based upon said finding, the City Council concludes that there is no
reasonable likelihood of a public necessity or use for the right-of-way and that it is in the public
interest to vacate it, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The northerly east three feet of the right -of -way of Bowdoin Way in
the 8500 block shown on the attached Exhibit A, incorporated by this reference as fully as if
herein set forth be, and is hereby vacated.

Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.

Manor No. 9, according to Auditor's File Number 1385954, records of Snohomish
County, Washington as described below.
Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Tract 18, thence S64 *43'00 "W along
the Northerly margin of Bowdoin Way, 110.59 feet to the True Point of Beginning;
thence North and parallel to the East line of Tract 18, 167.23 feet; thence West 50.00
feet; thence South and parallel to said Tract 18 190.85 feet to the Northerly margin of
Bowdoin Way; thence N64 *43'00 "E 52 feet more or less the True Point of Beginning.
