Ordinance 34970006.900000 WSS /gjz 3/18/04 ORDINANCE NO. 3497 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 3478, ANNUAL SALARY ORDINANCE FOR BUDGET YEAR 2004, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the creation of an Economic Development Director as part of the 2004 budget year process, and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the reclassification of the Human Resources Technician/Analyst position as part of the 2004 budget year process; and WHEREAS, a review of salaries related to certain positions indicates that the salaries may not be comparable to other positions within the region and against positions with responsibilities within the City, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems such increase to be appropriate, so long as any increase remains within the salary range for the position as established by the City Council, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1 of the annual salary ordinance for budget year 2004, Ordinance No. 3478, is hereby amended to include the position of Economic Development Director, reclassify the Human Resources Technician/Analyst to Human Resources Manager, IWSS567211.DOC;1 /00006.900000/} - I - and authorize an increase in the salary ranges of the positions identified in Exhibit A as Water Sewer Manager and Assistant Building Official. Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi- cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
