The roll call showed -the following Councilmen present, Roscoe, Hansen, Jones and Clausen. The minutes of the Pr�t,ioAsgmeetini were read and approved. Mr. Hecker reported 'to the Council that the alley between fourth and fifth streets, south of Dayton was being used by the property owners for piling of woad, etc. Chief of Police Roy Degneau.was requested to notify property oviners they must keep the alley cleared so cars can get through. Motion carried by a unamimious vote of the Council. 1 11 ORDINANCE No. 648 1 1 An Ordinance adopting and levying the general taxes for the City of Edmonds, Washington for the fiscal year commencing January 1st. 1944, on all property, both real,and personal, in said City, subject to tax- ation for the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to aarry on -the several departments of said City for the ensuing year as required by law; app- ropriating the same to the ,sever..1 funds _ for said fiscal year, and pro- viding for the collection thereof. Whereas the City Council of the City of Edmonds, State of Washington having heard all persons asking to be heard for and against the prelim- inary budget, heretofore adopted for the ensuing year, due notice having been given as required by law and now this 4th day of October 1943, the final budget having been adopted and the Council having determined the amount necessary to be.paid on the current assessment roll as gen- eral taxes for the ensuing :year and appropriating the same as in this Ordinance described therefore: The City Council of the City of Edmonds do Ordain as Follows: Section 1.
