Mr. Johnson asked that the alley in Block 77 be opened up so cars may drive
through the alley. A motion.was made by McGibbon that the property owners
be notified to remove any obstruction in the alley.
A•petition was read to teopen Yost Admiral way, which has been used by
Pointer Will€&mette Co. This was referred to the Street Committee.
A motion was made by Savage and seconded by Hansen that lot 32 iif-Block 91
be sold to John H. Nisbet for.$35. A roll call vote showed Chan �ler no,
McGibbon yes, Siefert yes, Savage.yes, Hansen.yes and Clausen yes'.
A motion was made by Siefert and seconded by McGibbon that the bills of
Harold 0. Meyer for $84 for the surging of the old well and $796,29 for
75%5of the contract for.the drilling of the first well be paid. Motion
carried.
Mayor Fourtner suggested that we call for bids for seal -coat on Fifth street
from Main street�to Bell Street and on Sixth street from Main street to the
High School, also to have Black top work -done on Front Street and.Main street
from Fifth street to sixth street.
Councilman Savage resigned from the Council.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.

Sgt Hall and Mr. Hill from the State Highway'_Uepartmentspoke to the Council
in regards to the traffic conditions and the also the ferry traffic in the
city. They asked that the State traffic Ordinance be taken under consider-
ation, and that Dayton street be used for the Ferry traffic.
A delegation of people from North and South Edmonds came before the Council
about water. After some discussion a motion was made by Siefert and seconded
by McGibbon that this be turned over to the Water committee, Superintendent
and the Engineer to report on atthe next meeting of the Council. Motion
carried.

A motion was made by McGibbon and seconded by chandler that the Attorney
draw up resolutions to Black -top Bell street ffom fifth to third street,
Edmonds street from Third to Front,Street, Front street to the City limits,
and Main street from Fifth to Sixth street, and the City to pay ;40fa of th5
cost, curb and gutters to be paid by the property owners. A roll call
vote showed Chandler yes, McGibbon yes, Siefert yes, Hansen yes and Clausen
yes.
A motion was made by McGibbon and seconded by Chandler that the City have
street lights installed at the following places, Second and'James, Third
at the entrance to the City park, Third inside the South City limits, Tenth
and Walnut, -Tenth and alder, Ninth and Alder, Maple between Sixth and Seventh,
Dayton between Sixth and Seventh, and Dayton between Fifth and Sixth by
the Masonic Hall. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Hansen that any person operating a tractor should get
a permit. No further action wqs taken.
A motion was made by McGibbon and seconded by Siefert that the Council go
'on record as favoring the Edmonds Breakwater Club,. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Chandler and seconded by Siefert that Ordinara.e #556
be accepted.
ORDINANCE NO. 556
An Ordinance providing for the licensing and regulation of pool, billiard,
and card tables, so-called games of skill, juke boxes and automatic music
machines and punch boards, and providing penalties for the violation theteof.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: From Snd after the effective date of this Act the license fee
for keeping and operating any billiard or pool table, within the City of
Edmonds, is hereby fixed at the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00) per year for -
each table, All such license fees shall expire on December 31st each year,
and such license taken out after July lst shall be Two Dollars and nifty
Cents ($2.50) for the remainder of the year.
Section 2: The license fee,for keeping and operating any card table, in the
City of Edmonds, is hereby fixed at the. sum of Twenty-five collars ($25.00)
per year for each table. All such license shall expire on December 31st
each years and such license taken out after July lit shell be Twelve
Dollars and Fifty Cents ($12.50) for the femainder of the year.
Section 3: -The license fee for keeping and operating any automatic -amuse-
ment game, so-called game; of skill, juke boxes or other automatic music
machines,,in the City of Edmonds, shall be -Twelve Dollars ($12.00) per
year for..each such game or machine. All such licenses shall wxpire on
December,31st each year,.and all such license taken out after July lst
shall be $6.00 for the remainder of the year.

Section 4: The license fee for each punch board operated within the City
of Edmonds shall be nifty, Cents. ($O.50).
Section 5: It shall be unlawful for.any person, firm or corporation to
operate any such pool ,table, billiard table, card table, automatic. game or
so-called game of skill, juke box or other automatic music machinerh or
punch board, within the City of Edmonds, without having first procured a
license from the City Clerk of said City so to do, and having paid,the
amount of such license into the Tileasury of the City of Edmonds.
Section 6: Every person, firm or corporation fuunddguilty.of violating any
of the terms or provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of
not to exceed One Hundred Dolla rs ($100.00) or by confinement in the City
Jail for not more than ten (10)days or by -both such fine and imprisonment.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication,as-provided by law.
A motion was made by Chandler and seconded by Hansen that lots 25, 26 and
27 in Block 40 be sold_to :aamuel Drobner for 440 a lot. A roll call vote
showed Chandler yes, Hansen yes, McGibbon yes, Siefert yes and Clausen yes,
Mayor Fourtner appointed Sproule McGinness as Councilman for the Second
ward to fill the vacancy of CouncilmdnvSavage for the remainder of the year.
The Council declared a vacancy in the First Ward.
