A motion was made by Councilman Clausen and seconded by Councilman Maxwell <br />that the Clerk advise the Church that the claim was denied. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Chitty, manager of the Puget Sound Power and Light came before the Council <br />in andwer to the letter which was sent to him in regards to the installing <br />of more lights in the city also to the replacing of lights globes that burn <br />out. A motion was made by Councilman Tucker and seconded by Councilman Clau- <br />sen that the street committee meet with Mr. Chitty in regards to installing <br />of extra lights. Motion carried. <br />A representative from the Grande Bonding Co., came before the Council in <br />regards to the bonds for L. I. D. 59, after some discussion a motion was <br />made by Councilmen McGinness and seconded by councilman Siegert.that this <br />matter be re -referred to the finance committee for consideration. A roll call <br />vote showed all councilmen in fav6r except councilman Siefert who voted no. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by, councilman McGibbon <br />That the hearing for assessment roll #60 be set for December 16. Motion <br />carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by Councilman Waggoner <br />that the Mayor instruct the Street Supt. to fill in the holes with black -top <br />on the newly constructed streets. Motion carried. <br />A motionwas made by councilman McGibbon and seconded by councilman Clausen <br />E'that a No travel sign be placed on rTont Street, from Edmonds street to the <br />on the west side until such time as has been <br />provided. Mot ion carried. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />t !z . !, <br />Ci y Clerk Mayor - <br />November <br />This was the night set for the hearing on the assessment roll for L. I. D.. <br />1?0. 57. Anumb,er of written protests were received. Mayor Fourtner asked to <br />hear from the people in the audience. A number of people spoke and stated <br />the assessment was to high and were not satisfied with the work. After some <br />discussion the Attorney Mr. Hunter stated the only way an assessment roll <br />could be protestbd out, is by fraud only. The Attorney and Engineer are to <br />check the assessment roll. A. motion was made by Councilman McGibbon and sec- <br />onded by Councilman Waggoner that the attorney draw up an ordinance to con- <br />firm the assessment roll. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Waggoner <br />that the street department b.e instructed to repair Bracketts,driveway and <br />garage immediately. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read from F.:. Rittenhouse in which he claims damage done to <br />his oil burner by water coming in his basement, to the amount of $72.13. <br />A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded 'by councilman McGinness <br />that this claim be referred to the attorney. Motion carried. Attormey Hunter <br />stated the claim was not legally sufficient. A motion was made by Councilman <br />McGinness and seconded by Councilman Tucker that this b&11 be referred to the <br />Street and sewer committee. Motion carried. <br />A letter was read from H. B. Valentine in which he claims damage done to his <br />property by the contractor taping dirt from his g�-s property. Attorney <br />stated this was not a proper claim. A. motion was made by councilman IVlaxwell <br />and seconded by Councilman 1aggoner that this be turned over to the Street <br />committee for a report. Motion carried. <br />
