There:b eing no furtheret business the meeting adjour City Clerk _ Mayor. January 3, 1950 The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The roll call showed the•,following councilmen present.,Vollan, Tucker, Waggoner,,McGinness, Engels, Maxwell and Savage. The Water Collector report was read. A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tucker that the bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. Motion carried. A motion was.made by%Councilman Maxwell and-s'econded by councilman Savage that Ord- p/'!.r-e�y� inance No. 598 approving the assessment roll for L. I. D. #63, be'passed and published. - Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Waggoner that the Suburban Transportation,Co.,,be notified that -due to the dissatification of the property oweners, the bus Zone willbe discontinued -at its present location within 30 days. Motion carried. Councilman Tucker reported that on December 22the contractor had abondoned the site fordrilling at the city park:- He also- stated that Mr. Woodrull asked''$4000 for one acre of his property,,and"Mr.- Kugler asked -for $2000 for''one acre of property; A motion was-made.by Councilman 'Tucker,and--seconded-by Councilman Maxwell that the Attorney draw up a lease to conform with the oral statement of Mr. Kugler for a 96 day lease for $5 with the option to buy the property, -not to exceed $2000.--Motion 'carried. It was suggested to have the Engineer look over the Smart property, for a drilling site, as they offered to sell;two_,acre's of'their"property to the City for'$2bbd.^:,';.: Attorney Holte suggested holding up on the Kugler and investigate the Smart property. A letter was feceived from the Great Northern Railway inquiring abgut what has been done .in regards to filling in of the two hoies`along Frorit street. :The Street Committee recommended that the Great Northern be liven permission to use some of the dirt at the Bell street crossing, and the city may'"b'e able to obtain free dirt for the rest of the fill but we do not have sufficient equipment for -the. -hauling of.the,_dirt. The Attorney was instructed to write the Great Northern in regards,to this fact.,. _ Councilman Also reported the condition "of -the streets, he stated that the -snow was being hauled off and suggested that a crew be put'ori'at:riight also. He also reported that no bus loading zone had been located as,yet, but there'is a possible..chance of,& location at the Richfield Service Station. A motion was made by Councilman Maxwell and seconded by Councilman, Voll that a slow sign be placed on the North and South side of Dayton Street -,at Fourths; and the Children at Play sign to be posited. And Mr. Zulauf wants $2000, and a roadway would have to be purchased from Mr. Davison, for which he asks $500. Mayor McGibbon stated.he,would like to contact- the Johnson's about"their property.
