Snohomish County Library be paid on a basis of two mills of the total aasessedval-aation
for 1954 regardless of amount collected until further notice. Motion carried.
A letter was read from Mrs. Thayer, owner of Engels Tavern, she stated she is -Tilling
to have the Quick Cab operate from her place of business, as long as this cab is
operated in a clen business -like manner.
A letter :vas read%rom Louise Johnson app}ying for a City License to operate .the
Quick Cab. Councilman Maxwell suggested this matter be held over until our next
council meeting.
Attorney Holte reported on receiving a letter from Attarney's for Carey & Cramer
in which they claim the City of Edmonds ones them antfcipated�-prOTit,s• lfosfftwork.):on
the Serer Disposal Plant. Upon recommendation from our attorney a Motion was
by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Tuson that Attorney Hol to
answer this letter and reject the claim and take any legal steps to protect the city.
Motion carried.
Attorney Holte reported he had written to Van Sullivan in regards to purchase of
property on Dayton street. The Water committee recommended the Engineer and Attorney
gather information and easements for sewerdisposal site and obtain easement on Pine
from ninth to tenth avenue.
A motion was made byeouncilman Ma -mll and seconded by councilman Bishop that the
Attorney proceed with the annexations of the two water sites. Motion carried.
The Watereommittee recommended we call for bids for a carload of six inch mechanical
joint vrater pipe setting January 18 the date for opening of bids. This was made a
motion by councilman Tizson with a second from councilman Talen. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Kincaid that the
Engineer establish the grade on Sixth street north of Glen for a nomal fee of $15.

U December 21, 1954
The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The boll
call showed the -following councilmen present Tuson, Talen,�Kincaid, Maxwell, Bishop
and McGinness.
The Treasurers report was read to the Council and approved.
A letter was read fromRobert.K. Johnson asking for a refund of the $160 , which he
paid for the third meterr so he could have water to his property. This was referred
to the water committee.
A card was read from the Snohomish County Planning commission, in regards to the
Paige addition. This was referredto the Planning commission. '
The Ordinance for Taxi cabs was again brought before the council, and some corrections
viere made. A motion was made by councilman Kincaid A,hd seconded by councilman:-Talen
that Taxi Ordinance # 657 be made a part of our city ordinances, after the corrections
have been made. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded b y councilman Tuson, subject to
the provisions of the neti 'liecode.b Mrs. Johnson be granted a license for next year to
operate a taxi. 'Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Bishop and seconded by councilman McGinness that Mr.
Wickst..rom's preliminary plat, Sunset addition to Edmonds, be approved. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Kincaid that the grade for
Morse plat on second avenue north be approved. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the
curb grade on Sixth avenue north be approved. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that
Engineer Reid proceed with obtaining an.easement across the necessary property for
the outfall disposal system. Motion carried.
Mr. Van Sullivan came before the council in,.regards to the city purchasing his
property on Dayton Street for a sever disposal plant., His price is $5000 an acre.
Mayor McGibbon assured him that we would get in touch with him in about a week,.

city purchase fuel ail for the City Hall from Sater & Ridenour for 1955. Motion carried.

City call for bids for the blanket Liability insurance, bids to be opened Jan. 4.

The Council met for its regular session with Mayor McGibbon presiding. The
roll call showed the following councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Kincaid, Bishop
Maxwell and McGinness.
The water collectors report was read to the council.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Talen that the
bills which were approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be

A motion was made.by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Talen that
interest warrant ##8.be issued to Metcalf and Thompson, for $3174.89, due on the
final estimate, still withholding 150. Motion carried.
A letter was read to the council from the -chairman of the library Board, Francis E.
Anderson, submitting the name of Hallic B. Anderson for the approval for reappointment
to the library board. Upon the Conformation of the appointment by Mayor McGibbon
a motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson approving
this conformation. Motion carried.
The application of Louise Johoson for a license M operate a taxi cab for 1955 was
referred to the chairman of the safety committee Gordon Maxwell.
One bid was received for Bilanketchiability Insurance and a letter stating not enough
time was given to make up this bid. A motion tivas made by councilman McGinness
and seconded by councilman Bishop that a call for bids be publish in the paper Jan. 13
and 20.. Bids to be opened February 1. Motion carried.
Mayor McGibbon recommended we offer 05000 for all of Mr. Sullivan property. A motion
was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that.we offer Mr.
Sullivan 5000 for his 3.6 acres of property. Motion carried.
The water committee recommended we pa55 to Jim Reid due for engineer, for legal
discriptions, on the sewer disposal plant site. This was made a motion by Councilman
Maxwell and seconded by councilman Talon. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Maxwell Engineer
Reid be paid $4724.26 for engineer fees to date not including fees for final assessment
roll, for L. I. D. #74. Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Talen that Interest
bearing warrant#9 be issued in the amount of $8500.00 the balance of the fixed estimate.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that the
hearing for the final assessment on L. I. D. #74 be set for February 15. Motion carried.
The street committee recommended that Floyd E. Nissen be appointed Street Supt. Mayor
McGibbon made the appointment.
