No second to the motion. A motion was made by Council.r,an Tuson and second- <br />ed.by Couhcilman Kincaid that Attorney Holte perpair a contrast to start,negatations for <br />�'1500 per year. Lotion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Sommerseth to instruct <br />Attorney Hol to to meet with the School Superintendent to ' dis?cuss future connections to the <br />sewer. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Bishop that the appoint- <br />ment of Howard Sutherland to the planning commission be approited. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Woodhull again came before the council in regards to hisbuilding a carport, adjoining <br />it to his house and building it to the property line. A motion was made by councilman Tulin <br />and seconded by councilman Bishop that the request be &enied. Motion carried. <br />A number of people residing in the Riley Park Addition came before the council in regards to <br />the condition of Glen street from Olympic avenue to tenth avenue. A motion was made by Coun- <br />cilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Bishop that the street department provide ditches <br />and fill material be put on the street until further work can be performed. Motion carried. <br />Also two street lights were asked for on Glen street. <br />Fire Chief Jim_ Astell reported the building in which the fire hose is stored is damp and <br />will ruin tid hose in time and something should be done to provide heat in the building. <br />A motion was made by councilman Kincaid and seconded by councilman Talen that we call for <br />bids for a two frequency police car radio, specifications to be made up by Chief Grimstad, <br />bids to be opened March 20. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman Bishop that Chief Grimstad <br />apply for matching funds for the base station and the four units. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that the amendment <br />to the City code Chapter 8 Article 3, Section 8-3.011 knovm as trade Stimulator, changing <br />,the ratefrom 3% of the face value of the boards to a flat rate of $75 per month for each retail <br />establfd)ftftt� be adopted. Motion carried. <br />The street Supt. was instructed to place a reflector type square sign atthe corner of the <br />Green house. <br />The hearing on the annexation of the property south east of Edmonds was held over until our next <br />meeting as the petition was not completely checked. <br />Engineer Reid reported that Ur. Thomas is willing to have a sum of money held in escrow <br />for water, sewers., and street improvement. A motion was riade by Councilman Tuson and <br />seconded by councilman Steed that we enter into an agreetment with 16r, Thomas for $23,500.00, <br />for installing of sever,' i ater and graveling of the street, unpbr_ recommendation of <br />Engineer Reid. Motion carried. <br />Engineer Reid is to contact Mr. Clements, who asked if he may take dirt out of the alley <br />between ninth and tenth and between Walnut and alder street. <br />There being, no further business the meeting adjourned. <br />Ci ty Cl erk' Mayor <br />March 6, 1956 <br />The Council met for its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding.- The Roll call <br />showed the following councilmen present Tuson, Talen, Kincaid, Bishop, Cloud, Steed <br />and Sommersethe <br />The water collectors report was read to the Council. <br />A letter was read from bars. May in regards to the sand which -had filled her pools. This <br />was referred'to the street Supt. to take care of. <br />The Four tavern owners came before the council protesting the charge of $75 per month, which <br />was passed by the Council February 21, changing from a 3% tax on punchboards to 075 per month <br />After some discussion a motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Steed <br />for a report to be submitted to the council, the amounts of tax collected in 1052 and 1953.- <br />Lotion carried. Mayor Maxwell appointed a committee to check on this with Councilman Cloud, <br />Chairman, Kincaid and Tuson. <br />In regards to the installing of the six inch water line on 100th west. A motion was made <br />by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that the water department install <br />approx. 1100 feet of six inch pipe with the provision that those property owners who <br />signed the petition pay the bbstaofuthe four inch pipe installed and three hydrants, <br />the city to pay the difference in cost between the four'and six inch,after the amount of <br />$2850 has been paid into the Treasurer. Motion carried. <br />
