This was the night set for the passing of the Zoning code. Aftersome explaining <br />by Councilman Bishop and discussion.a motion was made by Councilman Bishop and <br />seconded.by.councilman Tuson that the zoning code amendment to chapter 9, article 1 <br />section 9 1.07 be passed. A roll Ball vote showed Tuson yes, Talen no, Kincaid <br />yes, Cloud no, Bishop yes, and Steed yes. , <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that. the <br />P. U. L. be instructed to proceed with the lights in the new annexed area, known as <br />the Thomas Addition. Motion carried. . <br />`Mryo�-Maxwell!' >>= 1 reported three appliciations for the civi1 service examination <br />were received. biayor Maxwell appointed David L Yeoman for the fourth policeman <br />A motion was made by councilman. Talen.and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that <br />the appointment be confirmed. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Cloud that the <br />bill of Thorburn & Logozo for $11, 486.18, for payment. of installing water -and sewer <br />lines in,the Thomas Plat, and the bill to Jerry Hall for $70, be paid. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Talen that the bid <br />from Harry Squires to install 843 feet of six inch cast Iron pipe on Olympic Avenue <br />north.of Glen street and one fire hgdrant, at a cost of 657.25 plus sales tax. <br />Motion carried. , <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that Attorney <br />Holte prepare and Emergency Ordinance for the printing 1000 copies each of the Zoning <br />and subdivision ordinance, 250 copies to be bound and the balance placed in storage, <br />the oest not to exceed $900.00, Motion carried. <br />The hearing date for the Cedar streetsewer was set up from July 17 to August 7, by <br />a motion made by councilman Tuson and seconded by councilman Talen. Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Talen and seconded by Councilman Kincaid for a stop <br />sign to be placed at the intersection of Fourth and Dayton Street. Motion carried. <br />Therebeing ny further business the meeting adjourned. <br />City C. er k Mayor <br />July 5, 1956 <br />The Council met for its regular session with Mayor Maxwell presiding. The roll <br />call showed the following councilmen present Talen, Kincaid, Bishop and -Steed. <br />The Water Collectors report was read to the Council. <br />A motion was made by Counciliban Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Steed that the <br />.bills as approved by the auditing committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on iUthe <br />proper funds. Motion carried. <br />Three bids were received for installing water main on Third avenue and on View Drive, <br />and installing of two hydrants. The bid from Harry Squires in the amount of $1434050, <br />Thorburn & Logozo for $>994.10, and from Frank Coluccio for $1127.60. A motion was <br />made by Councilydan Talen and seconded by Councilman Bishop that we accept the bid <br />from Thorburn & Logozo, the lowest bidder. motion carried. <br />This was the night set for a hearing for street improvements on Seventh Avenue from <br />Bell to Casper Street, Casper street from Third to sunset avenue, Sprague street <br />from Ol*Wic avenue to ninth avenue, Daley street from Olympic avenue to a point <br />180 feet, om Eighth Avenue, tenth avenue from Sprague street to the alley north of <br />Daley s eet. 'lliere being an objection to the cost on Tenth avenue, a request by <br />made to leave out the curb and gutter, A motion was made by councilman Kincaid <br />that Ordinance No. 678 be enacted with an amendement for tenth avenue. No second. <br />Councilman Kincaid withdrew his motion. Amotion was made by Councilman Kincaid and <br />seconded by councilman Talen that Ordinance No. 678 be adopted. A roll call vote showed <br />Talen yes, Kincaid yes, Bishop no and Steed yes. <br />This was also the night for a hearing on the irmprovement of the alley from Main to <br />Bell street between Sunset and Second avenue. Therebeing no objections to the <br />improvement a motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman <br />Talen that.Ordinance No. 679 be passed.
