19571001 City Council MinutesOctober 1, 1957 The'Council met for"its regular session with'Mayor Maxwell presiding, with the following Councilmen'present Tuson, Sorensen, Cloud, Kincaid and Purton. Donald McGibbon was sworn in by Mayor Maxwell,*for-Councilman-at-large, until our next City Election. Mayor Maxwell recommended and a motion was made by Counciman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Tuson that the Council elect Robert E. Blackburn'J,3% to serve as Councilman for the Third Precinct until our next City Election. Motion carried. The water Collectors report was read to the Council. This being the night set for a hearing on the Final Assessment Rolll for L. I. D. No. 81, for the improving of -streets in the Brookmere Plat. No protests were received objecting to the assessments, a motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Purton that Ordinance #708, approving and confirming the assessment roll, be passed. Motion carried. The Final Plat of Munger Addition As having been approved by the Planning Commission, a motion was -made by Councilman Tuson and seconded by Councilman Cloud that the Council accept the Plat, with the provisions that all Utilites and streets be put in and paid for by Mr. Munger, including the Engineering costs. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid rind seconded by Councilman Sorensen that a letter of Thanks'be'sent to Capt.'G. T. Sorensen for the hours of work he put in at the City Park. Motion carried. A letter was read to the Council, signed by Mr. and Mrs, Garnett and Miss Harriett Tipping, asking to have their street named Bartlett Street or Bartlett Way. The Engineer's preliminary cost for a sewer in Yost First Addition was $1500.00, with a misc. expense of $300. The Council studied the Dog Ordinance and made some changes. A motion was made by Councilman Purton and seconded by Councilman Tuson that a letter of appreciation be'sent to P. J. Sommerseth and Preston P. Steed for their services as Councilmen. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Kincaid and seconded by Councilman Sorensen that the date for opening bids for sidewalks, L. I. D. #82, be set for October 22. Motion carried. A motion was made by Cpuncilman Sorensen and seconded by Councilman Kincaid that the bills as approved by the Auditing Committee be allowed and warrants be drawn on the proper funds. ?lotion carried.
