Hearing was held on the final assessment roll on LID #98 paving of 10A Ave., Elm to Pine. There was one written protest and one verbal protest. A motion was made rby Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that assessment roll for LID 7#98. Motion carried. l The City Attorney reported on a petition received, signed by Edmonds voters for the calling of an election to be voted upon by the voters of Edmonds and those of the effected area of Woodway for possible annexation of parts of Woodway and County property. There were several people present in regard to this, and discussion was held, but the City Council took no official action. A letter from the Sno-line YMCA requesting a guard rail at their property was referred to the Street Committee. The City Engineer was instructed to set the alley grade between 6th and A,,,north to the Playfield. It was moved by Council Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Tuson that the traffic light at 614 and Main be removed to 25th S. and 5th S.E. Motion carried. A motion was made -by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Lambe to authorize the Engineer to proceed with the design preparatory to calling for bids on LID 104, sewer- ing of GreMview. Motion carried. Mayor Maxwell appointed Sadie Christiansen Acting City (Lark effective November 150 1960. It was then moved by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Tuson to confirm the Mayor's appointment. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye to authorize the sub- stitution of asphaltic concrete for Portland cement in the restoration of the Edmonds to Lynnwood highway from South of 3rd to Olympic Ave. The Highway Dept. to be advised by letter of this, and if in the opinion of the City Engineer the street needed more than a lift coat, this would be done. Motion carried. There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned. or City Clerk /' November 1, 1960 Regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all councilman present. C Hearing was held on the Final Assessment Roll on LID 100, Paving and Curbs on 4th, Pine to Howell. There were no written protests. Motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Tuson that Ord. 852 be passed, confirming the Final Assessment Roll on LID #100. Motion carried. Bids were opened on LID #103, Paving and Curbs on Lynn Road. They were as follows: Lake City Gravel & Materials, Inc. $10,442.52 Johnson Engineering & Construction Co. 9,760.75 Washington Asphalt Co. 10,271.20 i A motion was made by Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Slye that award of contract on LID #103 be postponed and the award be made on November 15th, providing right-of-ways have been obtained. The City Attorney announced that the Union Oil-Woodway Petition which the Council had taken no action on, had been withdrawn and the matter is disposed of. A letter was received from J. B. Gulick asking that the water drain route which now runs through his property be re-routed. The letter was given to City Supervisor Don Lawson and he will report on the matter at a later date. A letter was received from the Tavern owners of Edmonds, requesting pin ball machines be legalized. Council will take request under advisement, Motion was made by Councilman Tuson, seconded by Councilman Slye to authorize a call for bids on fuel oil for the City Hall for 1961. Bids to be opened on Dec. 6th. Motion Ccarried.
