During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be
found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a permit coordinator in the Development
Services Department. Thank you.
Sheet AA1.01
1.In the Plumbing Fixture Summary, remove the reference to the WS Energy Code and replace
it with IBC Chapter 29 for Plumbing Fixtures.
2.In the Plumbing Fixture Summary, show an accurate count of fixtures provided.
3.Please show the total occupant load figures for both floor levels.
4.Design live loads in excess of 50 psf shall be consicuously posted where they apply. Please
show on the plans where these postings will be located. IBC 106.1
5.Add the occupant load of the RN Quiet rooms to the OL numbers at the doors exiting the
Team Pod areas on the second floor.
6.Pocket doors and barn style doors are restricted to spaces containing less than 10 occupants.
Please revise the plans to show side hinged doors, and the appropriate accessible approaches.
Please revise sheets A2.02 and A2.42 accordingly. IBC 1008.1.2

7.Indicate the locations of the drinking fountains on each floor level. Key Note C references the
drinking fountains; however the reference is not used.
8.Reverse the swing of doors 010B and 013A to be in the direction of egress travel, as they both
serve more than 50 occupants. IBC 1008.1.2
9.Show the layout of the lockers and benches in the Staff Locker/Gown room along with
dimensions showing compliance with ANSI A117.1.
10.Provide a tactile exit sign at the exit stairways and exterior exit doors. IBC 1011.3
11.Show on the plans an accessible portion of the Dental reception desk complying with ANSI
A117.1 section 904.

13.Change the swing of door 002C as it reduces the effective width of the stair landing to less
than the required width. IBC 1009.5
14.Reverse the swing of door 020B to be in the direction of egress travel, as it serves more than

15.Verify a minimum 42 inch high guard or parapet at the roof hatch. IBC 1013.6

19.The toilet compartment doors must provide a minimum clear width of 32 inches. ANSI
A117.1 sections 604.8.3 and 404.2.2

20.Several doors in the door schedule may not meet the minimum clear opening of 32 inches
with the door open to 90 degrees. Also, double doors must have at least one leaf that complies
with this requirement. Please verify doors 002B, 115B, 117A, 126A and 020A provide the 32
inch opening. IBC 1008.1.1

21.Provide height dimension of the sink in the Lunch Room to show compliance to the
accessibility standards in ANSI A117.1.
Structural
22.Special inspections have been identified for this project. Please complete the attached form
and return prior to issuance of the permit.
23.Please address the structural review comments in the attached letter from Beck and
Associates.
