Community Health Center.pdfMEMORANDUM June 14, 2013 TO: tskaftun@chcsno.org /Community Health Center FROM: Steve Fisher, City of Edmonds Public Works, 425-771-0235 RE: Plan review for required trash enclosure BLD20130562 — Community Health Center of Snohomish County The submitted site plan shows the proposed trash enclosure located along the south drive aisle. The location, size, orientation, and offset gate design are acceptable for minimum service requirements. However, the following items need to be addressed: • Wall sections are to be constructed using solid materials. Chain-link construction is not permitted, except for gate sections. • A concrete pad is also required. • Indications of gate swing (past 90 degree at a minimum) and type/location of gate stops for both open and closed positions. The minimum standards and other details are in the handout found online at www.edmondswa.gov. Click on Government, then Development Services to find the handouts list and click on E-37 — Garbage & Recycle Collection Enclosure & Access Policy. Please correct the above items and also provide an appropriate elevation section to accompany the plan view enclosure detail. One last item is for possible consideration. Comments from the property's waste hauler state that the enclosure's orientation limits the facility to have roll-out container service only. Commercial collection uses front -load type containers which ideally are serviced by direct approach and lifting. There is no straight approach to the opening of the proposed enclosure, therefore roll-out containers are to be used, with a 4 -cubic -yard size the largest available on wheels. Larger containers can only be serviced by a minimum 70 -foot direct approach. Let me know if you have any questions.
