Re: 1040 Puget Way
On 5/4/2011, 1 received a phone call from the contractor responsible for
upgrading the single family residence at that address.
The SFR has been assessed with an NOV for drainage violations.

A visit to the home showed the downspouts to be connected to the footing drain
system, which in turn was mislocated up to 4" too high up the foundation /
basement wall on the west side of the house. There was no tightline drain
installed on the west side of the house. I spoke with the laborer there and
informed him that a tightline would be required to be installed, and the resulting
water routed to the nearest catch basin.
A question the laborer had was how to drain the new egress window under the
porch. The building department had recommended"a sump pump be installed,
and I allowed that pumping to a small dry well outside of the building envelope
would be acceptable.
There are a number of other issues with the noted sfr, however those issues are
outside of the Engineering Department's purview, and are being addressed by
the appropriate divisions within the City.
