NE #332 Arlington, WA 98223 s: GARY HAAKENSON MAYOR, S TREE T FILE RE: Rock Removal on Grandview St. Dear Mr. Hodel, City staff has noticed the parking wheel stops in front of your property at 1041 Grandview St. (1' away from the pavement). For driver safety purposes, the City requests that any parking wheel stops or landscaping rocks be a minimum of ten feet from the traveled way. The City is required to maintain a safe right-of-way. • Please remove those parking wheel stops from the edge of the street pavement as soon as possible or before December 10ih, 2008. September 215t, 2007 Mr. Blaine Chesterfield, Storm Water Engineering Program Manager City of Edmonds Engineering Division 121 5th Avenue North - 2nd Floor Edmonds, WA 98020 RE: 1043 Grandview Street - Drainage Plan Submittal Letter Dear Blain: LDC 14201 NE 200th Street Suite 100 Woodinville, WA 98072 Voice (425) 806-1869 Fox (425) 482-2893 Enclosed is the complete drainage plan submittal for the 1043 Grandview Street project. Enclosed with this application are three copies of all requested items, as per the City of Edmonds #E72 Handout. This project will create 4,983.35 sq. ft. of impervious surface (Per the Architect NW site plan dated 5/18/07). As such, this project qualifies for design of storm water -- --management facilities per the #E72 handout. The detention pipe selected from Table 1 - #E72, assuming the maximum allowable impervious surface (5,000 sq. ft. ), was 40 linear feet of 24" pipe. The outlet orifice size, per Table 2 - #E72, is 7/8". Finally, a Type IL Catch Basin was chosen from Table 3 - #E72. The storm water facility was designed per the City of Edmonds detail as shown in #E72. Please see the attached Standard Detention System Worksheet and Sheet SD-01, Road and Storm Drainage Plan for additional information regarding the design of this facility. Due to on -site topography and the location of the existing storm drainage system it was determined that the storm drainage system must be pumped. This alternative was discussed with Blaine Chesterfield on September 12th, 2007 and was given preliminary approval. The predeveloped stormwater flows, which are attached, were calculated using StormShed 2G. These flows were used to verify that the selected pumps will not exceed the 100-year storm event. The 100-year event for this site will generate 56.1 gpm. The Zoeller "Flow Mate" Model 98 was selected as the primary pump while two Zoeller "Basement Sentry" pumps were selected for emergency backup. The emergency back up pumps will be operated off of batteries that will be connected to a trickle charger to ensure that they are available in a power outage situation. Each pump will be supplied with two batteries in order to supply approximately 15 hours of continuous run time each. The basin information, StormShed outputs, pump sizing spreadsheet and Zoeller pump specifications are inrlurlprl with thk Ipttpr WT Pow EEING ST011oxv SEP 212007 BUILDING DEPARTMENT CITY OF EDMONDS STREET FILE D e v e l o p m e n t S e r v i c e s P l a n n i n g C i v i I E n g i n e e r i n g P r o j e c t M a n a g e m e n t Should, you have any questions,Or'comments, or require any additional information; please feel free to contact. me. at.(4-2-5),806-1869.
