Dear Mr. Bucklin,
This letter is in reference to your business license. In April, you
came into my office to inquire about a home occupation permit. We
determined that in order for you to use the post office box shown on
your business license, you need to obtain a Home Occupation permit. I
am still holding your business license, as I cannot approve it until
you obtain the Home Occupation permit. Thus, you do not have a valid
business license at present.
y I can approve the business license once you obtain the Home Occupation
permit. An application is enclosed. Please complete the application,
obtain the required information, and submit the application no later
than May 26, 1987. You are currently in violation of the Edmonds City
Code as you do not have a valid business license for your business.
Please call me if you have any questions on the Home Occupation form.
I can be reached at 771-3202.
Sincerely,
Leigh Francis

Dear Members,
PLANNING DEPT.
Prior to purchasing our. on June 8th,1987 we contacted the Planning
Department to inquire regarding any anticipated variances, covenants or
engineering projects adjoing the property on 1008 "C" Avenue and were informed
that there were no contemplated variances. Upon our moving on June 8th we
noted the posted " PENDING DECISIONS" advising of a request to place a_business
office for a home heating company at the residence of 1.045 "C" Avenue with
certainn limitations.
Our clear Title and the real estate agents of Page as the listing
agent and McPherson as the selling agent describes this area as residential
only. We strongly object to any business related approval for this area for
the following reasons;
1.. The limitations posted are unenforceable.
2. The described property access is by an alley between 9th Ave and "C" Ave
that is one lane only.
3. Although it does not exist it is possible to build an access road from
"C" Ave.
4. Parking on the west side of "C" Ave limits the street between Pine and
Fir to one lane.
5. There are no sidewalks on either the alley or "C" Ave.
6. Traffic to and from any business establishment even with the good intentions
of the owners cannot be controlled.
7. Engineering studies should be conducted on the two streets involved before
any decision is reached.
This is to advise you that we wish to retain the residential
integrity of the area and respectfully hope to avoid any litigation to preserve
our investment. Your favorable consideration to our protest is sincerely
requested.
Respectfully submitted,
Paul C."and Faith D. Maurice
