I continue to oppose the installation of a berm across my driveway. A berm would be hazardous to my
health and physical well being because I am disabled (P628799). Walkers and/or walking sticks are
necessary pieces of equipment to support my perambulations to and from the mail box and otherwise. A
berm will not only impede my walking ability but may cause a fall and result in injury. I have been
instructed by my physicians to walk only on level ground. My "hiking" days are over! Documentation
from my orthopedic and primary physicians in support of my condition will be provided if necessary.
I acknowledge City Engineer Dave Gebert's telephone call on May 17th with a message from you regarding
the material cost estimate of installing the necessary catch basin where the surface water and debris flow
into my driveway. Dave Gebert also said, "We will wait to hear from you."
It is acknowledged that an "additional" catch basin may not catch ALL of the surface water and debris flow
into my driveway. Mother Nature does have her way despite our best efforts! However, a catch basin
installed in a functional location will catch the MAJORITY - if not all - of the tun off. I know! I have
managed the surface water and debris run off in this location for thirty (30) years!
I do not consider this to be an "additional" requirement or a cost burden to be bom by the general
population since the catch basin( s) should have been included in the original design. A consultant from
Enviro-Drain, Inc. concurs in the latter as well as determination that the drainage pipes are installed on the
wrong side of the road!
I do not believe my request for an extension of time to respond to be extraordinary since "progress" on the
project until recently ... has been various colors of paint sprayed on the street during all seasons
periodically since 2001!
Your patience and understanding is very much appreciated. I will advise of my progress in a timely
manner.
Sincerely,
Evelyr1i WeW ngty w
