RE: Parking Limitation on 231st Street SW
Dear Mr. Dillan:
Our records indicate that you are the owner of the subject property at 10704 231St Street SW.
The City has received a complaint that vehicles are unable to freely turn around in the cul-de-sac
adjacent to your home. City of Edmonds staff has investigated the matter and determined that at
various times of the day vehicles can't turn around safely in the cul-de-sac.
Per Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC), Chapter 8.48.190 (copy enclosed,
stopping, standing or parking is prohibited upon certain roadways, including cul-de-sacs with
turning radius of less than 35 feet. Since your cul-de-sac center radius is less'than 35 .feet, this .
portion of the code would apply to it.
We appreciate the need to park near your home; however, this cul-de-sac must remain
reasonably clear to allow autos and fire vehicles to turn around. By law, the Police Department
is required to enforce this parking restriction. If complaints persist, enforcement officers will be
directed to issues tickets to violators. You should also be aware that the Edmonds Community
Development Code limits each dwelling to a maximum of five parked vehicles.
Your cooperation in bringing this parking issue into compliance is appreciated.. Please feel free
to call me with any questions at 425-771-0220, Ext. 1328.
Sincerely,
DARRELL C. SMITH, P.E.
