Re: inspection of rental property at 11417
Kenan:
My apologies for delayed response. I have been away on
extended business travel. I also had to find an old phone that,
had pictures from before the remodel showing the extended
driveway we made into a lawn. The phone had a faulty charge
port.and it took some effort to transfer the pictures.
The first two pictures show the current creekside vegetation
we have added. We agreed to remove all rocks on the west
side of the creek (which appears almost dry in the pictures)
and add water sensitive plants and grasses similar to the
ones we put originally on the east side of the creek - and
visible in pictures.
Happy to have you inspect the recent work. My tenant works
from 6 AM to 1 PM most days and I can arrange for a visit.
Pictures 3-7 were taken in June of last year and show (from
different angles) the extended impermeable pavement we
replaced with permeable grass.
At that time, the boat was parked on thepavement with about
a 6 ft gap to the old mound of soil that dates back to when we
purchased the house in 1989.
At that time the mound was covered in 8 foot briar bushes.
We pushed that mound soil forward to provide a foundation
for the topsoil we added for the lawn.
The boat was also moved forward to its current location for the
lawn.
Picture 8 is from the southeast corner of the back yard and
shows the basketball .hoop embedded in the driveway that
was installed around 1992 - the post and backboard are still
on the property.
I hope this provides a clearer picture of the extended driveway
we had until last summer. We probably could also provide
evidence from neighbors of its existence.
Happy to do any additional remediation to the creek you deem
necessary.

To perform this test:
1. Dig a hole at least 36 inches deep. Use a shovel or post hole digger site of hole makes no difference - only depth.
2. Fill hole with water. Now let all water run our of hole. This soaks the
ground and will give a more accurate reading.

water.run out until there is just 6 inches from bottem left in hole.
4. Note how many minutes it takes for this last 6 inches to seep away..Iz-2'--

operation - Public Works
A residence at 1141 Seventh Avenue South, Edmonds, whose owner
we believe to be Walter highland, was connected to the 6" sanitary sawed'
line installed by William king. According to our records, this ►+as accom-
plished without a permit, inspection, or an a ssess4a*nt payment. 4ounec-
tion was confirmed by dye test taken last week.
li
This house should be connected to the a" sanitary sewer main,
which is under construction at the: present time ty B. g M. Contractors
for Belt Homes. We have requested that they provide a tee for this con-
nection. Torn Belt informeu me that they had cut through the controversial
6" sanitary sewer line in two locations. Perhaps what he !meant was that
they tied run into it and had riot actually cut through it.
It is our feeling that the owner of this resideuce should be
contacted by the City Attorney and informed that they are required to
connect to the new 8" sanitary sewer ling under construction. Does Belt
Homes have an agreement with the City, such as a late-cotaor dg"ement
for this connection; and what would be the assessment for this property?
Please let we know your feelings pertaining, to this problem.
