After some investigation, I found that there is no record of you applying for a construction permit. This is in direct violation of the Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC) 18.00. Larson City Engineer Edmonds Civic Center Edmonds, Washington Re: St. Peter by the Sea Lutheran Church Dear Mr. Larson; I am writing to advise you of one small change in our plan for electrical service to the St. Peter by the Sea facility. Our original intent was to run the wiring underground from the building to the southeast corner of the property in order to connect with the power line which would be run to the church property from the east along Hindley Lane. We have encountered a temporary financing problem insofar as running underground wiring throughout this length. We are therefore planning to run the wiring underground from the building straight south to a location near the edge of the .{proposed Hindley Lane. At that point we plan to have a pole installed and hopefully a light placed thereon to illuminate the grounds. The line would then run overhead from that pole in an easterly direction to the east property line. As you will appreciate from the above, this plan will permit us to place the wiring underground throughout the the run on our property should we be able to acquire financing at a later date. Also by placing the wiring underground from the present building to the edge of the propposed Hindley Lane we would be in a position to make a connection to the underground wiring which presumably would run along Hindley Lane at such time as it might be developed. The proposed building contains 264 feet of pew space. The Zoning Ordinance requires that one parking space be provided for each 60" of pew; therefore, 53 parking spaces are required on the site. The Ordinance also requires that parking areas fronting on a street right- of-way shall provide a 5' wide planting area along the street frontage. As an alternative to this, the developer may install a decorative fence or a combination of planting area and fence along the street frontage. An area equivalent to 8% of the parking area should be set aside for land- scaping and planting beds. Design standards for these landscape areas are explained in the attached copy of the Ordinance regulating the development of parking lots. The installation of street trees approved by the Planning Department is required along 9th Avenue adjoining the parking area. These trees should be planted 40' apart on center and their common names indicated on the plot plan. The approved varieties are the following: Thornless Eioneylocust, Sweet Gum, London Plane Tree, Scarlet Oak, Flowering Ash, Paper Birch, Red Maple. Any variety may be chosen, but all trees should be of the same variety. We request that a revised site plan be drawn reflecting the above requirements and submitted to this department prior to the issuance of a building permit.
