You may recall our visit last month regarding neighborhood improvements to
the corner of Paradise Lane and 6th. Place South in Edmonds.
Just a reminder... there has been still another accident since we spoke. If
you'll look closely at the curb on the NW corner of this intersection
(ccmpletely destroyed), you'll also be surprised that both cars were able to
be driven away. As I pointed out the day we spoke, our driveway is very
close to the SW corner of this intersection, and I can't count the number of
near -misses occurring as cars speed around this corner while I am trying to
back out of my garage. Cars must be almost stopped before turning onto 6th.
-P1. S. in order to be sure it is safe to proceed around the corner. Our
neighbor across the street is so angry about the cars peeling around this
co!:. - that traffic danger was part of his decision to move away. If a stop
sign is not erected at this corner, I'm afraid that one of these near -misses
will someday connect! By the way, the reverse of the driveway situation is
also true. I very often must continue down 6th. P1. S., and make a u^turn,
in order to prevent a car behind from climbing into my trunk when I brake to
turn into my garage.
We all do appreciate toe stop sign that was recently erected at this
intersection, but all agree that it would have been a lot more effective
across the street. We would like to see a 3-way stop at this
intersection ... at the very least a sign added to stop traffic turning right
from Paradise Lane onto 6th. Place S.
