1"his letter is in response to your letter of August 18,
lqq�. The water leak has been repaired as of August 30,
1992. We found that the cause of the leak was from metal
pipe having been laid directly on top of our plastic pipe
and that over the years wore through our plastic pipe. The
metal pipe does not belong to us but is in the utility
easement. We do not believe the lost water should be
charged to us.
We Wei -it to considerable cost removing the overlying
aspl'�aul t from the driveway, escavati ng the the three-foot
labor and
deep hole, replacing the pipes, and paying for
tool:; and parts. Our cost was approximately20U.UU which
does not incJ.ude the repair of the damaged driveway.
We would appreciate You reviewing our current water
biil and our next bill and removing the additional charges
for water above our normal usage.
