Ries Dear Ms. Umbaugh: I spoke to you some weeks ago following my discussions with Meg in Planning. had put up a sign in the front of the Edmonds Law Center, where I am now renting space from Christopher P. Williams. The address here is next door to you and is 143 — 5 space North. The sign I put up had been constructed without discussion with the city, which was my mistake. I believe Meg (I cannot recall her last name) indicated Planning would authorize my sign, if it were joined to the Williams sign, so that they were as one. Meg then referred me for a building permit. My landlord indicated my sign was almost identical to a prior sign that had been up before. I am enclosing the Critical Areas Checklist, the Construction Permit Application, signed by the owner of the building, and three sets of my plans prepared by the sign company, evidencing a board connecting the signs. Please let me know your thoughts and whether the City of Edmonds might approve a building permit.
