Re: 150 - 3rd Ave. S., four -unit mixed use building
Bonds, fees, insurance
Dear Jack,
g-90
We have reviewed the construction cost estimate for the subject
building. Based on site development costs, a performance bond of
$31,000 is required. Also, a 2.2% inspection fee of $676 must be paid.
In addition to the above, the site must be monitored by a licensed
surveyor to determine if any earth or groundwater movement occurs
during construction.
A $2.0 million commercial liability insurance policy is required to
provide coverage for property damage to adjacent buildings and roadways
in the event of a collapse during construction. The policy shall
protect and hold harmless the City of Edmonds from any liability. The
insurance broker shall provide coverage language for the City
Attorney's review. All necessary bonds, fees and proof of insurance
must be submitted and paid before a permit can be issued.
The existing sidewalk along the east frontage shall be removed and a
new seven foot wide sidewalk constructed.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
ADDISON L. CHRISMAN IV

AGGREGATE: BALLAST (WASH DOT STD. SPEC. 9-03.9(i).
ENTRANCE DIMENSIONS: THE AGGREGATE LAYER MUST BEAT LEAST 8 INCHES THICK. IT MUST
EXTEND THE FULL WIDTH OF THE VEHICULAR NGRESS AND EGRESS AREA.
WASHING: IF CONDITIONS ON THE SITE ARE SUCH THAT MOST OF THE MUD IS NOT REMOVED
FROM VEHICLE TIRES BY CONTACT WITH ThE GRAVEL, THEN THE TIRES MUST BE WASHED
BEFORE VEHICLES ENTER A PUBLIC ROAD. WASH WATER MUST BE CARRIED AWAY FROM THE
ENTRANCE TO A SETTLING AREA TO REMOVE SEDIMENT. A WASH RACK MAY ALSO BE USED
TO MAKE WASHING MORE CONVENIENT AND EFFECTIVE.
INSTALL
ATION: THE AREA OFTHE ENTRANCE SHOULD BE CLEARED OF ALL VEGETATION, ROOTS
AND OTHER OBJECTIONAL MATERIAL. THE GRAVEL SHALL BE PLACED TO THE SPECIFIED
