Enclosed is a copy of a letter from the Snohomish Health District. This letter is an answer to my request that they check the surface -water that flows from your neigh- bor's property to determine if it is contaminated. They could not find any indication that this water contained any septic tank effluent or sewage. If you have any further questions on this matter, I recommend that you contact the Health District and speak with Mr -;:':.Petersen The City Attorney advised me that in'this case the City does not have any jurisdiction. Since the Health Dis- trict could not find a health hazard, this appears to be a civil matter between you and your neighbor and we, therefore, recommend that if you wish to pursue it further, you contact your attorney for advice. HARRISON MAYOR SUBJECT: ALLEGED_SEPTIC TANK---EFFLUENT-DRAINAGE FROM 115917 72nd Ave. W. to 16009 No-'Meadowdale Road Mr. Russ Johnson of 16009 North Meadowdale Road complained to me that -his neighbor, Mr. Chrysler, of 15917 72nd Ave. W. has recently trenched and directed drainage from the area of his septic tank drain field to Mr. Johnson's property. I in- vestigated the situation and found that some drainage is direct- ed to the Johnson property. In an effort to correct the situation, I spoke with Mr. Chry- sler and requested that we be allowed to dye test his septic tank effluent to determine if the drainage onto Mr. Johnson's property was from the Chrysler septic tank drain field. Mr. Chrysler refused this request, Mr- Johnson is very concerned about a possible health hazard. There are small children who play in the yard. He also indicated that the grey water from the Chrysler kitchen drains onto the surface. Will you please investigate this complaint and keep me ad- vised?
