Dear Mrs. Fallon:
I have reviewed your account and will allow a credit for the billing period between
August 23, 1999 through December 23, 1999 in accordance with our City policy. The
policy states that the customer will be billed at the retail rate based upon the average water
consumption for the same period during the previous year. In addition, the excess water
lost from the leak will be billed to customer at the City's wholesale rate with a 15%
surcharge added for administrative cost. Only one leak credit will be granted in any three-
year period.
Should you have any additional questions after you receive your new billing, please
contact Denise Burke, Utility Billing Clerk, at 771-0241.

Enclosed please find a copy of my last water bill. As you can see, it is 6 times
higher than normal. This was due to my outside water line breaking and having a leak
for a period of time. 1 have replaced the entire outside Iine and stopped the leak.
After talking with the assistant at the Water Dept. she told me I could write and
ask for a possible reduction of the bill for the two cycles that would cover the period of
time that the outside line was leaking. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly
appreciate since it would' be a hardship for me to have to pay this bill in full.
My account number is 3-00450 and the billing period is from 8/23/99 through
12/23/99. Thank you.
