The following is the break down of cost to remove the tree
at 17020 65th Place West:
Labor $232.00
Equipment 30.00
Dumping Charge 10.00
$272.00
The cost covers.cutting the trees down, cutting the trees into
fire wood and leaving it there for the property owner, and
hauling away the brush. It is my recommendation that we do not
remove the stumps; however, if the owners want, we can cut them
off below ground level.

SUBJECT: COMPLAINT OF DEAD TREES IN SEWER EASEMENT AT
17020 65TH PLACE WEST
In reference to the residents complaint, we find that the
trees are adjacent to the sewer main constructed under L.I.D.
191 in 1973. The question before us is whether or not the
City is liable for the removal of the trees. We have now been
beyond the normal one year period of guarantee on sewer
construction. However, it is highly possible that the trees
would not die for two or three years after root damage.
It is our opinion, therefore, that in order to avoid liti-
gation and possible additional future damages as a result of
the trees falling, the City should proceed to remove the trees.
It is also recommended that the City should not remove the
stumps as this will become an expense beyond the limit of
comparison to having the property owner file claims. The
property owner should be contacted with this offer.
