Re: Drainage Concerns by 17020 Talbot Road
Dear Edmonds Property Owners:
GARY HAAKENSON
MAYOR
cq>, --
RECEIVEEY
JUL 17 2001
ENGINEERING DIVISION
Thank you for all of your letters expressing your concerns and desires to correct
an apparently long standing drainage problem along Talbot Road, north of 171st
Street SW. This letter is to verify that city construction crews will be improving
the storm drainage piping in the City street right-of-way by September 1, 2001.
This should significantly reduce the chance of stormwater runoff from Talbot
Road discharging onto your property.
During this construction, the city will allow you access to your property at all
times. I will have our Public Works Street/Stormwater Manager, Jim Kammerer,
contact you when the specific construction dates are scheduled.
The other concern you have all expressed is the detrimental effect the
stormwater runoff has had on your common driveway. In order for the city to
legally address this concern, I have enclosed three copies of a Claim for
Damages form. Each property owner should complete the form and return them
to the City Clerk's office located at City Hall, 121 — 5th Avenue North. Once they
are received, they will be sent to the City's insurance company along with your
previous letters of concern. I will personally work with City's insurance
representative to expedite a resolution for your claims.
