3.- Again pour water in hole to a height of 12 inches from the bottom.

On the evening of November 3., 1978, torrential
rains fell on 76th West, the water overflowed
the street and formed a rushing current down
our driveway-, around the house and down a ramp
into our basement. Before the night was over
with its wind and rain, six inches of water
stood in our basement, flooding out the furnace
and soaking the carpets that were on'the floor.
Repeated calls and visits were.made to the
Edmonds Street Department requesting that someone
come to our house and determine what. should,be
done to prevent this happening again. No one
has yet responded. My husband, Tom, and I
labored three days to clean up the mess and
get the water out by first taking out the remains
of the carpets and removing the toilet and sweep-
ing out the floodwaters. :,,Two carpets were taken
out by Dave's Carpets to dry and clean, Sound Oil
Company's furnace repair service fixed our furnace,
and we were able to clean walls and floors and
get rid of the mud and sand. Our driveway has
been eroded by the current of sand and rock that
washed in on November 3. Every time it rains
heavily we are fearful that this will happen again.
On February 13 the wind and rain storm and its
attendant power outage caused a new�flood in our
basement, with the rugs getting soaked and some
of our son's furnishings.. -,-
We are submitting the bills to the City of
Edmonds for reimbursement for the damages caused
by street water runoff.
