Edmonds, WA. 98020 Attention: Ron Holland: RECEIVED FE B 1 0 1995 PUBLIC WORKS Dep, February 9, 1995 Re: Acct. # 306375 I received a letter from you on January 5, 1995 regarding the unusually high consumption of water noted when my meter was read on 12/28 * /94. 1 did not receive a door hanger notice on that date as you indicated in your letter but I did notice the high bill and phone in to the billing department the same day that your le�rter was received. I proceeded to check for the cause and discovered by process of elimination that the leak was somewhere between the 340 feet of line from my shutoff valve to the meter. On exploring the terrain there was no sign of unusually wet spots or water flow observed. That may have been partly complicated by the rainy weather we had at that time. I proceeded to seek estimates for discovering the source of the problem and repair from local plumbing companies. The early estimates, without exception, all recommended complete replacement of the line with estimates ranging from $2,500 to $6,250 plus tax. This high cost lead me to look for a less costly alternative resulting in finally getting the job completed on 2/08/95 as outlined on the attached bill. The meter reading as of today is 009 which is 73 cubic feet higher than the 12/28 reading. I would very much appreciate it you would consider the above circumstances and give me whatever credit you can allow.
