I had the Water Division check all possible causes
as to why you would have a high water reading -,for the
billing period of 7/6/84-9/6/84.
The meter test we performed proved the meter was
working properly. We did check and tell you of a leaky
toilet and with the high temperatures this summer, could
account for this high bill.
I have no justification for reducing your account
at this time. If I could be of further assistance, please
give me a call.

, Gentlemen:
We are enclosing a check for $50, which is a little over
half of the amount due on the above billing.' We are
refusing to pay the ba.lance of this bill for the following
reasons:
1. The most water we.have ever used since we have lived
here (13 years) was the,summer of 1983 when we had a
family reuinion that lasted 12"days with an average
of twenty people visiting from different' -parts of the
U. S. and. Canada.
2. During -the period of this current bill, 7/5 to 9/6,
our usage was over double (8100 cu. ft.) with only
three living here during this period.
3. A representative of the.Water Department was here to
check for le*aks, etc., and informed us he thought we
had a leaky toilet. We had someone come since.that.
time to verify any possible leaks that might have caused
this.incredible increase in water usage (approximately
60,000 gallons). He found no leaks.
4. Since the cut-off date of our last billing, 9/6/84, to
10/19/84 the m�eter has only risen from 395 to 403.
Therefore, it is obvious'something is wrong with our
meter for it to show such a discrepancy.

rll� a. Property owners must obtain a permit to install side sewers on
>4 their property. A licensed side sewer contractor must be employed to
construct side sewers.in the public' right-of-way.
b. The side sewer contractor assumes full reponsibility for each
installation for one year.
C. Commercial establishment requires a minimum of a six inch (6")
side sewer line.
0 d. Side sewers may not be installed closer than thirty inches (30")
to any structure.

OQ e. Side sewer lines must 0 be laid at a minimum grade. of 2% (1.15
0 and maximum grade of 100% (45 ). 0
E-A f. No turn in side s8wer greater than 45 (1/81bend) is 0 allowed
between cleanout. All 90 turns must be constructed of a 45 (1/8
bend) and wye.with removable cap.
g. No down spouts, footing drains or floor drains can be connected
to side sewer system.
h. Pea gravel is required for bedding when installing sewer lines
through other than granular soil.
i. Cleanouts are required at 30"-60" from each plumbing exit line
and at minimum intervals of 100' along sewer 'line run.
. j. Trenches within City right-of-way must be restored to original
conditions. Contractors shall be responsible for right-of-way failure
due to poor compaction of fill.
k. Side sewer must be left uncovered until inspected and approved
by e City.
Inspection during normal working hours only. Two (2) working
days -notice required.
