The City of Edmonds has received a building permit application for
construction of a new single family residence on your block. A logical
address cannot be issued to this lot because of the conflict with your
address.
Assigning addresses is a precise system that has been adopted from
Snohomish County. Emergency response teams are trained to locate homes
based on this system. As you know, time is,of the essence in an crisis.
situtation and the City, in acknowlegement of this, has a long standing
ordinance that requires non -conforming addresses to be immediately
changed once the error found.
Therefore, an address change is required on your residence.

As required by the Uniform Building Code, the new address numbers must
be posted on the residence in a highly visible place, at your earliest
convenience.
The City will notify all applicable City departments of this,,address
change, it will be your responsibility to notify all others including
the Post Office. The Post Office has guaranteed postal service of up
to one year on the old address.
