I do understand the need to wait for favorable weather conditions. However since the middle of January we have had a number of weeks that patch work could have been accomplished. Although much of the road requires total reconstruction as a resuMt of poor drainage under the pavement, the seal coat would certainly extend it I s lif e considering the amount of traffic It is required to carry. Settlements in Roadway. 78th Ave West, north of 189th Ave West Dear Sir, My wife and I have lived in Edmonds since 1973 at our present address and after the increase in our sewer and water bill we have not seen any c,)--e in th-e quallity of the roadways surrounding our home with the exceDtion of Dellwood Drive and 189th Ave West from 76th Ave West to 80th Ave West. On 78th the area over the main line sewer and side sewer connections has settled, most likely due to a lack of quality control at the time of construction -They have become a bone Jarring annoyance. I feel the time has come when the repair and subsequent asphalt overlay has become necessary. In conversations with our neighbors we are all in agreement that the quality of our street directly effects the incentive to maintain our respective yards and devalues the. property. I am an employee of King County, Department of Public Works, and work. closely with their overlay program. I can honestly say that any road in the condition of the one we live on would have been attended to long ago. Your attention in this matter and written res-oonce would be appreciated.
