SUBJECT: -189'09 - 78th Ave. W.'
On August 18, 1983, the Edmonds Water Department crew was
working on the replacement of a leaking service line for
the addresses of 19803 - 19809 - 78th Ave. W. In the
process, Jim Jensen was tightening the 3/4" corp (valve)
which was loosely connected to the main. While working
on this corp, it blew out of the main sending a 30'-40'
stream of water and gravel across 78th Ave. W. onto the
yard and car of 18909. Before the water could be blocked
or shut down, it caused some pitting of the paint on the
Thunderbird. Water Department crews rinsed the dirt off
the car and area, but the pitting had already occurred.
On August 19, 1983, Archie Brena and Greg Ramsland inspected
the damage done to the car and informed the owner to get
three quotes on repairs then submit them to the City claims
office for reimbursement.
