Ourrecords indicate that you are the owners of the subject property at 19925 8811 Avenue West.
We have received a complaint that vegetation along your southern property line is making it
difficult for drivers to see to the east at 200th Street SW. City of Edmonds staff has investigated
the matter and determined that the vegetation in question does, in fact, create a sight distance
hazard per Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC), Street Obstructions, Chapter 9.25
(copy enclosed).
In order to reduce the hazard and enhance public safety, the City of Edmonds is requesting that
you trim this vegetation back. Vegetation within 15 feet of the roadway should have a maximum
height of three feet. This should significantly enhance sight distance for all users entering this
intersection from the north, allowing an 88th Avenue West southbound driver to look 280 feet to
the east. A driver is typically situated 15 feet behind the stop bar and should be able to see 280
feet along all legs of the intersection for a street posted at 25 mph.
Please complete the trimming by October 17, 2002. Your cooperation in bringing your
vegetation into compliance is appreciated.
