3-10.2 Size of Signs. Every sign required by 5-10 shall have the word "EXIT"
or other required wording in plainly legible letters not less than 6 inches high with the
principal strokes of letters not less than 3/4 inch wide.

are required, exit signs shall be illuminated from the same source.
Exit signs may be internally or externally illuminated. Internally illumi-
nated signs are usually provided in occupancies where reduction of normal
illumination is permitted, such as in motion picture theaters.
5-10.4 Specific Requirements.
5-10-4.1 Directional Signs.
5-10.4.1.1 . A sign reading "EXIT," or similar designation, with an arrow indi-
cating the direction, shall be placed in every location where the direction of travel to
reach the nearest exit is not immediately apparent.

*7-1.1 All new systems including yard piping shall be tested
hydrostatically at not less than 200 pounds per square inch (13.8
bars) pressure for two hours, or at 50 pounds per square inch
(3.5 bars) in excess of the normal pressure when the normal pres-
sure is in excess of 150 pounds per square inch (10.3 bars). The
inside standpipe piping shall show no leakage. Refer to _N'FPA
24 for permissible leakage in underground piping. (See Appendix B.)
7-1.2 Piping between the fire department connection and the
check valve in the inlet pipe shall be tested hydrostatically the
same as the balance of the system.
