Resolution by Edmonds United Methodist Church
Charge Conference -on July 7, 2002
WHEREAS, Edmonds United Methodist Church owns property west
of and adjacent to a lot owned by Helga Barringer, Karen Kvernenes, and
Orvin Kvernessen, and
WHEREAS, Helga Barringer, Karen Kvernenes and Orvin Kvernenes
have requested the Edmonds United Methodist Church to grant a
permanent easement for installation, operation and maintenance of a
sanitary sewer pipeline to connect their adjacent lot to the City of
Edmonds Sanitary Sewer located on church property, and
WHEREAS, a copy of the proposed easement described in Exhibit
"A" is attached hereto and hereby incorporated by reference and
WHEREAS the Board of Trustees of Edmonds United Methodist
Church have.. by motion at their regular meeting, agreed to recommend that
the Charge Conference authorize the Trustees to grant said easement,
WHEREAS notice of this meeting has been given as required by Sec.
2540 of the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church,
NOW, THEREFOR, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that Edmonds United
Methodist Church hereby grant the proposed easement, more fully
described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein, by
reference.

Charge Conference Minutes
July 7, 2002
At 11:50 am on July 7, 2002, a Charge Conference was called to order by Pastor Dave
Gillespie by authority of a letter from Elaine J.W. Stanovsky, District Superintendent, dated
June 20, 2002.
Al Holre presented a Resolution regarding the request by Helga Barringer, Karen Kvereries,

and Orvin Kverenes, to grant a permanent casement for installation, operation and
maintenance of a sanitary sewer pipeline to ccnnect their adjacent lot to the City of
Edmonds Sanitary Sewer located on cburch property.
After discussion, a vote was taken, unanimously giving -consent forthe described easement.
'rhe meeting was adjourned at 12:10 pm.

were Dal Campbell, Charlie Dixon, Bob French, Kent Knechtel, Jeff Okazaki, and Dave

Update on Cagle Scout Project — As of now the Scouts have cancelled Scotty'5
Oster's project
Financial Report — The report format is under going a change, The financial report was
approved.
AREA REPORTS
Porsonage Committee —
Peggy Kennedy's House: We need to make sure Peggy'.5 house gets painted this
year. We may need to give assistance by helping to prop the house to fai:iiiftata the
house painting.
Pastor Marta's: Jeff and l9ob wilt pressure wash Marta's deck on Tuesday July 9.
Pastor JlrW*: Del is planning a work pruning 'party' on Saturday July 13. The shrubs
need to be pruned around the hous* for the pa?niers and the hedges are to be sheared.
Pastor Jim's 5x1mrior House Painting Project
Dave Walters received thme bids for the painting of Jim's house:
1) Quality Painfing $3360.00 plue 276.00 for psainting deck raiis
2) Artistic Touch $2885.00 plus for primer plus 70D. 00 for second finish coat plus
450 for back brushing.
3) Turni Lee $2295,00
Discussion followed. It was decided we would either go with T, am! or Quality. Concems
were raised about the legal exposure the c;hvruh would have if we hired Torn! (assuming
she Is not a licensed contracter). It "s rnoved and approved to allow Del, Kent� and
Dave to further discuss these issues with Taml, And based upon these discussions to
award the painting contract to either Tami or Quallty.
Other Business
Easennnt Request — (south of the Sar1wre). The Board of TnMees Moved and
Approved the sewer line easement with no costs to the church.
The next Board of Trust*se meeting will be Tuesday July 23, 2002 at '01:01) pm. The

RE: Easement to existing sewer line on EUMC property
DearJoe:
Enclosed is a packet of information and the approvals of the various levels needed for Our
Church to authorize an easement.
A neighbor on our east property line is seeking a short plat from the City of Edmonds in order to
build a single family dwelling on the new lot established, The City has required that the
neighbor obtain an easement from EUMC that will allow the new home to be serviced by the

existing sewer line which runs parallel to our east property line. It is our understanding that an
existing "T" in the sewer line exists that will make it easy for the neighbor to attach to it.
Edmonds United Methodist Church has gone through all of the approval steps necessary to
empower the Board of Trustees to sign the proposed easement.
Please review the enclosed information. We ask for the Bank's acknowledgement and approval
of our granting of this easement. If you have any questions, please contact me at home at (206)

We'd very much appreciate having your quick response, as the neighbor has been waiting quite
a while for us to complete our internal approval process and would like to get going on his
project.
