I did a bit of research after your phone call of June 14. The signs
that you were questioning are, in fact, correct according to the
"Official Street Map" and your house actually fronts on 204th PI., not
81st Ave. W. To be more consistent with the overall numbering scheme,
one of several things could occur:
a) You and your neighbor at 20414 would need a four digit address on
204th Pl. or
b) The "Official Street Map" (and street signing) would need to
change that loop to be named 81st Ave. W. This would mean at
least four of your neighbors would then need five digit addresses.
The second option may make the most logical sense, but be the most
involved as well. Perhaps the easiest solution would be to retain all
current numbering of houses and streets, then simply add a small sign
under the 204th Pl. sign with an arrow pointing south reading "TO 81ST
AVE. W.16
If you think this course of action will help with the confusion factor,
it would be a quick and easy fix. There are many other situations
similar to yours that have no easy solutions.
