The policy states that the customer will be billed at the retail rate based upon the average water consumption for the same period during the previous year. In addition, the excess water lost from the leak will be billed to customer at the City's wholesale rate with a 15% surcharge added for administrative cost. Only one leak credit will be granted in any three- year period. Edmonds, WA 98026 Dear Sir: I'm writing to you to request adjustment on our water bill (copy of statement enclosed). Let me tell you what happened. On November 2-15, we were out of town on vacation. When we arrived home, our water was flowing out from between the driveway cement slabs. Anyway, the plumber inspected it and we were told our pipe underneath the driveway was busted. We had it fixed by South County Plumbing, Inc. which cost us over $3,200 and to our surprise was not even covered by Homeowner insurance according to our agent. Anyway, our average water usage bills are the following: 1/15/98to3/12/98 =67.24 3/12/98 to 5/13/98 = 68.62 5/13/98 to 7/13/98 = 65.87 7/13/98 to 9/10/98 = 65.87 Our bill dated 9/10/98 to 11/13/98 was $100.24, which is way above our average usage. Westill don't know how much our next bill which will cover the period 11/13/98 and until the pipe was repaired.
