Dear Homeowner:
It has been determined your address is connected to a sewer line that
has no granted utility easement for access of city crews to maintain
the lines. This means that the line is considered a private line that
is maintained by the owners that connect to it.
In the event of stoppage or damage, the city cannot be held liable as
we have no easement granted to us to maintain or even allow crews on
private property. Attached is a map of addresses this affects and
location of private sewer lines.
There are two options to consider:
1. A,homeowner association be formed to set up a maintenance
fund and remain as a private entity.
2. The homeowners grant the city of Edmonds a sewer easement
maintenance along the west property lines of 7808, 7806,
7804, 7802, 206th Street S.W. This will allow the city to
periodically maintain the system including repairing the
damaged section of tile located in the southwest corner of
7804 206th Street S.W. and raise manhole in back of 7802
206th.
Attached is a copy of the city's standard easement agreement. Once you
