In 196o, Mr. Ray Johnson requested donations of sections of real estate to develop a 400 road with a 60' by 201 turnaround. This was necessitated to sell his two northerly lots. In good faith we donated a section 20' by 30' in the Southeast corner of our lot with the stipulation the Westerly 81 of this section would be available when the total area shown as cross hatched was developed into a road. The total area was then turned over to the city of Edmonds and became a dedicated street and turnaround. In consideration of this, the section of turnaround on Ray Johnson's property was immediately developed to allow a turning movement, backing out of our driveway. In September of 19?1, the Ray Johnson property was sold to Stanley Olsen with the location of the Stanley Olsen home making the turn- around appear as their parking lot, This has already led to one costly experience when our son backing into the turnaround on a dark, foggy night, failed to observe a small Volkswagon Rabbit, owned by a daughter, Cheryl Olson, who was living there at the time. She was not aware this was a dedi- cated turnaroundo and the total bill was paid by our son, Although of late the Olsens have appeared to make a conscientious effort to keep the turnaround clear, there are still times when someone parks in the middle or two cars parkt'.'ftiakihg_it:very-difficult, to turn around. At present, we are very concerned about a large cpmper that has been purchased by Mr. Olsen w)-4,,h has been parked in the turnaround a large percentage of time si�ft its, purchase. It is our understanding that any parking is illegal in the turn- around area due to the possibility of large vehicles, such as garbage trucks, fire trucks, aid cars, ecte needing a large turning radius. As a taxpayer in Edmonds, who originally donated a large portion of land for this turnaround, we feel this situation should be corrected even if it means placing no parking signs in the turn- around.
