By contract with the City, water meters in this area are still read and maintained by Olympic View. However, the City of Edmonds now performs the billing for the water consumption in that area. After receipt of your letter on August 31, 1972, our office requested Olympic View to check the function of your water meter. As a result, you received our letter of September 11, 1972, stating that your meter was checked by Olympic View and it was determined that your toilet had a bad leak. Your billing amount remained unchanged. When your letter was received on November 6, 1972, stating that you did not concur with our judgement, the matter was referred to the Board of Commissioners of the Olympic View Water District. Their reply was that your meter had been replaced with a new meter on November 10, 1972, and that the old meter was tested and found to be recording correctly. The Board stated that an adjustment in billing was not jus- tified. As a result of these events, your account stands payable in the amount of $21.27. Sincerely, CITY OF EDMONDS J. The water quantity as indicated is according to the water meter reading, furnished us by Olympic View Water District who reads the water meters in your area. This quantity is about the same as listed for last year. During the first half of 1970, your billing totals on bimonthly billings were $14.40, $14.66, and $14.40. Your current utility billing in the amount of $14.66 is correct based upon current charges, water use indicated, and City tax rate. Your check in the itmount of $14.66 has been applied to your utility account. Respectfully, CITY OF EDMONDS RONALD L.
