RE: BASKETBALL HOOP
Dear Resident:

It has come to our attention that a basketball hoop was constructed in
the public right-of-way adjoining your property. According to City
codes, any type of structure installed within the public right-of-way
needs to have prior approval via a Street Use permit.
In this case, the City would deny approval of the basketball hoop. As
a general policy, the City does not allow basketball hoops in improved
right-of-ways due to the potential for vehicles to injure a basketball
player on the street. For the City to allow a basketball hoop to
remain, increases the City liability risk to claims.
Assuming that the basketball hoop is on your property, I am requesting
that it be removed within thirty (30) days of this letter. I hope that
you will be able to find a suitable location on your property.
